Reducing turnover requires a long-term, holistic approach. Schools and districts benefit from creating an environment where teachers feel respected, supported, and able to grow. Competitive compensation is important, but so are mentorship opportunities, professional development options, and clear career pathways. New teachers, in particular, thrive when paired with experienced colleagues who can help guide them through early challenges.

Teacher well-being also deserves attention. Access to mental health resources, healthier work-life balance, and collaborative school cultures help educators feel connected rather than isolated. When teachers feel supported by their peers and leadership, they are more likely to stay.
